  • For your consideration is a complete, late 1950’s to early 2000’s era USAF Parachute assembly, including the harness and all related components.  The 1958 C-9 parachute canopy, made by the Irving Air Chute Co., is orange and white and is 28′ in diameter.  All suspension lines are intact, including the red-handled steering lines.  There are numerous small holes in the canopy, most repaired, but some not.  The harness, Capewell releases, suspension straps, and canopy container are complete, and include the green bail-out oxygen bottle with its “green apple” actuating knob, helmet oxygen mask hose connector, the AN/URT Survival Radio Beacon Set, a 14,000′ altitude Automatic Parachute Ripcord Release with its red knob, manual deployment ripcord, and even a survival rations food bar (dated Sep 2007).  Also installed is a FCU-10/P Personnel Lowering Device, which allows the pilot to reach the ground if hung up in a tree.  The two seat straps have been cut and then cosmetically re-sewn, allowing the harness to be worn for display, and there is a cut on the yellow tube. Looks like the Harness Date of Manufacture (DOM) is June 97 and the Date of Inspection (DOI) is Aug 03.
See pictures for details.  The pilot is not included.
